Firefighters, paramedics, and police officers were some of the many members of various Fairfax County rescue crews to rush to the scene of an incident involving a car and a tree in Vienna on Friday, March 2nd. The official report from the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue says that a call came in at close to 9:30 in the morning that claimed a tree had fallen onto a car at the intersection of Maple Avenue East and Branch Road South East. When the rescue crews arrived at the scene of the incident, they found themselves needing to free an injured and trapped individual from a car that was lying crushed underneath a large tree.
Early this past Thursday morning, while drivers throughout Fairfax County were taking part in the early commute, a car driving through the Springfield area suddenly caught fire. Details regarding the reason behind the fire have yet to arrive, but the incident did result in a report from the Springfield Police Department, a report that helped explain to the thousands of motorists as to why traffic around the intersection of Interstate 95 and Interstate 495 was so terrible.

Padilla, a 30-year-old from Alexandria, was behind the wheel of his car, traveling west on I-495, when he approached exit 173.
A second fatal crash occurred in Fairfax County on Thanksgiving morning. According to the report from the Fairfax County Police, Snyder, a 78-year-old Arlington resident was driving her 1989 Honda Civic eastbound on Interstate 66 when the accident occurred that resulted in her death. On Tuesday, Fairfax County Police responded to an emergency call that brought them to the 8400 block of Springfield’s Alban Road. According to the preliminary report filed by the Fairfax County Police, the collision occurred somewhere close to 8:15 in the morning and resulted in the closure of Alban Road for over three hours. While the full details of the incident have yet to be released, it seems as though at least two cars were involved in a crash that resulted in the death of at least one individual.
Police in Fairfax County are currently working on an investigation into an accident that took place on Saturday night in Great Falls. The early report by the Fairfax County Police indicates that the crash took place somewhere along the Beach Mill Road’s 10500 block and involved a 26-year-old Annandale resident Wenger, a 23-year-old Great Falls resident Ryan, and a 15-year-old girl who has not been named.
Late on Tuesday Night, a 46-year-old Johanshad was driving his 2010 Nissan Altima through Burke in Fairfax County when his car left the road and crashed into a small line of trees. The Fairfax County Police have issued a statement on the crash indicating that, while no other vehicles or individuals were involved in the accident, the force of the collision caused fatal injuries to Johanshad and that he died before the ambulance team could transport him to a hospital.
Late last July, a Fairfax County gas station was the site of a car accident that resulted in a raging fire that required multiple fire department crews battling the flames before being able to fully suppress them. According to a report from Fairfax County Fire and Rescue, the incident began when a driver approached the gas station from the road and then collided with a fuel pump. It seems that the driver of the car (which has yet to be given a full description) was pulling up to the station in order to refuel when she accidentally drove into the pump.
