20-Year-Old Receives DUI in Vienna
Reports from the Vienna Police Department indicate that members of the force had cause to arrest an individual on July 18th on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. According to these reports, the incident that resulted in the arrest began shortly before noon, at 11:45 in the morning. Vienna Police responded to reports of an accident that happened in a parking lot located at 386 Maple Avenue East, and when they arrived they found a driver who is assumed to be the person behind the accident.
The reports did not indicate just what the incident was that caused the authorities to be called in, and it is also not clear if it was a collision between several cars or if the driver in question possibly struck a pedestrian or a building. Regardless, the authorities began to question the driver behind the wheel of the vehicle supposedly responsible for the incident.
During the conversation with the driver, a person now confirmed as a 20-year-old Woodbridge resident, police said that they began to pick up some telltale signs of drunkenness (the report failed to state what these signs were). As a result, the responding officer asked the driver if they would be willing to undergo several field sobriety tests. The driver compiled, and after failing each of the tests administered was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. Once at the center, the woman was charged with a DUI and officially arrested.
The warrant indicated that the woman was being transferred to the larger governing body of the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office, and it is believed that she remains in the custody of this organization.
At the time of this writing, it is not clear if any other charges will be filed against the woman and it is also not known if any official court dates have been set in regards to the DUI or any other charges that the individual faces. The report also failed to state whether or not any bail amount was specified for the woman or if she was being temporarily held without any bail.
An investigation into the incident is still underway.
